Mele & Doug

Doug and Mele went on their first date December 10th, 2005. They saw The Chronicles of Narnia and ate sushi. The sushi was good.
Mele: I work for a stock photo agency in Maryland. Other occupations have included pastry chef, community organizer, cook, book indexer, hair model, professional hippie, hawk migration bander, and farmer. Raised in Oahu, Hawaii, my family moved to Ohio when I was in 9th grade. I’ve lived in Chicago, the deserts of Utah, and rural Virginia, and hope to live in many more places. I have been known to enjoy knitting and I really love photography, and wish I had time for more of it. I have been known as “that bird lady” in some circles for my obsession with birdwatching, and I love taking bird walks with novice birders. I look forward to getting to know more of Doug’s friends and family leading up to and during the wedding itself.
Doug: I’m a graphic designer and amateur nerd. I like makin’ websites, takin’ photos, and tussling with cats. I’ve lived all over the country as a child in a military family, but I’ve settled in DC for the past five years. I enjoy pretentious music, pretentious photography, and sleeping in further than I should.
